Survey Insights: In 2023, we launched the first JBT Supplier Sustainability Survey, reaching out to 250 suppliers. The learnings from this survey are helpful in understanding our suppliers’ sustainability priorities, practices, and aspirations. This has helped us to identify suppliers that still have not started in their sustainability journey and might need additional support from us.
Let’s Talk About It! Our face-to-face discussions with key suppliers on ESG topics have been invaluable. These conversations delved deep into sustainability strategies, unveiling actionable insights into processes, plans, and performance metrics for them as well as us.
Risk Management: we introduced Global Risk Monitoring System (GRMS), a tool to monitor supply chain risk with our suppliers. This tool enables us to monitor the risk landscape, encompassing factors such as bankruptcy risks, diversity metrics, regulatory compliance, digital insurance, reputational and cybersecurity risk. By mitigating potential risks, we ensure the resilience and sustainability of our supply chain ecosystem.
Carbon Emissions: we are undertaking a rigorous Scope 3 assessment. This comprehensive evaluation enables us to pinpoint the primary drivers of greenhouse gas emissions within our supply chain, paving the way for targeted interventions to reduce our carbon footprint. Through this initiative, we reaffirm our dedication to mitigating climate change and fostering a more sustainable future for generations to come.
Document Refresh: we are enhancing our documents, including our Supplier Code of Conduct, supplier contracts, and request for information/proposal (RFI/RFP) templates to integrate sustainability deeply into our operations. These updates aim to facilitate carbon reporting, compliance with latest environmental requirements, and progress tracking mechanisms. By embedding Sustainability principles into our standard operating procedures, we reaffirm our solid commitment to environmental responsibility.
